Can we get the vNIC status in Hyper-V server? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

For Linux virtual machine, the status column always shows "OK" for net adapters in hyper-V manager,. Even though I've disabled the vNIC in vm by "ifconfig ethX down". With Get-VMNetworkAdapter in powershell, the status was same as in GUI.

I've tried centOS-7 and ubuntu 14.04 and get the same result.

But for windows virtual machine, the disabled vNIC would get "LostCommunication" in GUI.

Does the LIS support communicating the vNIC status to host? Is there any other way to monitor the vNIC status in host ?

  • Are you running the KVP daemon? A lot of the status is communicated to the host using this mechanism.
