process mon, filemon and regmon error "drivers not loaded" in lock down environment RRS feed

    Hi Friends,

     

    I am unable to run sysinternals tools(process mon, filemon and regmon ) in the lock down environment. It gives error "drivers not loaded" is there a wayout for this senerio. As I need to run in softgrid client (locked down environment) to find out what is causing the error.

    Filemon and Regmon need registry keys added outside the virtual environment to be able to work inside it.

    Don't think Procmon can run inside the virtual environment (or needs to)?

    Another way to access the filemon & regmon is to use procmon which is a combination of both. Also before launching the procmon from within the bubble, run it atleast once from outside the bubble.

    ...and if you have access to old versions of filemon and regmon (5.0 and earlier), those work without any added wizardry.

     

    Of course ProcMon is more versatile but sometimes simple things are more elegant ;-)
