How to skip a stage in FAST ESP RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi,

I would like to skip the execution of a default stage(for eg: tokenizer) based on certain conditions, i.e jump over the tokenizer stage.

How can this be achieved? The stage prior to tokenizer stage is a custom stage.

    Thanks !!

  • For custom stages you can add conditions to skip the stage. For default stages you have to use stages before/after the stage you want to skip to mimic the effect. Some examples:

    1. You have a stage that reads and writes to the same field, called data. Based on certain conditions you want to skip this stage. Before the stage you want to skip, copy data to data2. After the stage you want to skip copy data2 back to data.

    2. You have a stage that reads the field input, and write to output (the point here is that read and write is done in separate fields). Create a custom stage before the stage you want to conditionally skip. When the condition is met, simply copy input to output and then set input to empty.
