DPM Backup RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have DPM 2012 to take backups of my Exchange 2010 Databases. I have NAS storage and don't have SAN storage.

I want to take backup into NAS Storage.

Kindly help how to take backup of Exchange databases into NAS drive.

  • Hi,

NAS (network attached storage) devices that emulate a SMB accessible volume will not work as DPM Storage pool.

Only Non-removable block level devices are supported for storage pool disks, so basically only physical disks you can see in Windows Disk Management (excluding the disk that has the O.S. installed).  These can be local DASD (Scsi, SAS, SATA), or Fiber Attached SAN LUN, or iSCSI attached disks.
