MDT 8450 Bcdedit error RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm getting a Bcderror when I go to Update Media for Windows 10 v1703 images. (Also affects Windows 7 images)

MDT 8450 and ADK 1709 are installed on Server 2008 R2. I've double-checked everything, even the system requirements and it all looks good, but not sure what's happening.

    Any ideas? Thanks

  • Consider upgrading to a more recent version of Server or else install MDT and ADK on a Windows 10 client and open your deployment share from there, then use it to build your media.

  • The bcdedit that comes with ADK v1709 doesn't work on Windows 7/Server 2008 R2.  Says in the system requirements that it works but it doesn't.  Have to grab an older version - the bcdedit from ADK v1511 works on Windows 7/Server 2008 R2.  Replace the bcdedit in the Windows ADK folder.  Might need to replace everything in the folder.

  • Daniel,

I'm hoping the server will get upgraded.

It apparently saves ISO to local drive. So other than that difference, I can work with it.

    Thanks,

    Nathan
