KB not showing under updates but can search for it RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

I synchronised our WSUS (2008 R2) server and approved all updates for installing for the relevant computer groups. When I went to check for updates on the 1st server, I was suspicious that there weren't many updates advertised (16). I then checked on-line and found 21 updates. I took a note of the KB's and when checking the WSUS, I've listed ALL updates by KB, went through all viewing filters and can't see the KB's. But when I do a search by KB it shows up and allows me to approve it!?

Can someone tell me where I can find these updates to approve? To re-iterate; I've downloaded all the months updates, approved them for install to all computers. At the moment, I'm just downloading updates on line...

    Any help appreciated

  • Hi Ben,

According to your description, it seems that some updates are filtered by the filter.

Could you tell me the detailed settings of your filter? If we want to see all of the update, we may query with "Approval:Any Except Declined" and "Status:Any".

    >>At the moment, I'm just downloading updates on line...

Update is only available when it has been downloaded to the WSUS server.

    Best Regards.

  • Hi Steve

    thanks for your input

According to WSUS; synchronisation had succeeded and Download status had 0 files needed and had approved all updates for my computer groups

I was filtering updates under the All updates category and went through all filters including the "Approval:Any Except Declined" and "Status:Any"!?

I will be downloading updates in the next week or so and will post if I get similar issues or not
