How are you addressing Windows to Go and the inability to install feature upgrades? RRS feed

  • I am in the process of evaluating Windows 10 Windows to Go as a BYOD option. While assessing a number of the challenges of Windows to Go, the one sticking point is the inability to install feature updates on the devices. The idea of creating the drives using LTSB came up, but we would really like the W2G devices to be in-line with our CBB deployment image.

Even if we were to stick with N-1, that means keys would need to refreshed annually. I personally think this is a huge oversight to not allow feature updates to apply on W2G. Especially when it is being marketed as Windows as a Service, you are removing that entire portion from Windows to Go.

Is there anyone out there that has looked into W2G for the Enterprise, and how are you addressing the challenge of no feature updates?

    Thanks in advance.
