IAG SP2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have IAG version 3.7.0.0.14 in a virtual machine that I obtained on a Microsoft course a while ago.
I have downloaded the SP2, and executed it.

But my version is still showing as 3.7.0.0.14 - and I have restarted all IAG services.

Am I supposed to do anything else, besides running the SP2 exe file?

    Thanks

  • IAG relies on Perl to perform some of its functions, including backup, and upgrade. The Demo machines that are distributed do not contain the perl components because of licensing issues, so the demo cannot be upgraded, nor can it be backed up.

To get the latest version of IAG, go to Microsoft's website, and download the latest demo, which includes SP2. If you have a specific configuration on your current demo, you can EXPORT it and then IMPORT it to the new demo. If you do this, be sure to export the KEYS (detailed here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd278066.aspx) and then import them on the new demo virtual machine.

    Good luck, and have fun!

  • I had to install a version of ActivePerl before installing SP2 - but I can't remember if this is specific to our IAG vendor, Celestix.

  • I forgot to mention that I have a virtual machine, and not a device. Does the Perl update apply too?

  • It looks like it, yes:

"Before you install IAG 2007 SP2, you need to install ActivePerl version 5.8.8.822 on the IAG server. You may install ActivePerl anywhere on the IAG server. For details, see Installing IAG Service Pack 2 on a Hardware Appliance ."

  • OK, I installed the Active Perl .msi file. Then executed the SP2 file. Then executed the post SP2 update. BUT my IAG still shows version: 3.7.0.0.14 Wonder why it is not updating...
