Connecting excel and word documents RRS feed

  • Hello,

    I would like to ask a question about linking excel and word documents. For example, think about a word document report which contains a group of tables from an excel file. I would like to know if it is possible to link these tables in excel and word so that when one makes an update in the excel file it automatically updates the table in word document as well.

    Is this possible? If possible how can it be done?

  • Hi,

    Yes, it is possible to get this result.

    Please create a Table in Excel file first, then save it. Now please open a Word file and go to- Insert- Object- select Create from File and please make sure check Link to file option as shown in the following figure:

    Now you can get the result you want between Word and Excel. If you want to update in Word after typing data in Excel, please right the Table in Word and select update link.
