Snipping tool won't save RRS feed

  • Question

  • What has happened to the Snipping Tool in Windows 8?  It worked fine through Windows 7 and the Windows 8 preliminary releases, but now after paying for Windows 8 Professional, the program won't work any more.  It will save one time.  Then thereafter it stops responding whenever you ask it to save a snip.  When you close the program, it says windows is checking for a solution.  Is there a solution?  I shouldn't have to tweak the registry or reinstall my operating system.  This is a standard installation.

  • Hi,

I suggest to use SFC  /scannow to check the system file first:

Furthermore, you can try to create another user account and login to see if the same issue occurs.

If this issue persist, try to perform a system refresh:
    Click Control Panel
Click General on the left column
Under the Refresh your PC without affecting your files, click Get started

  • Change your open jpeg with photos by default and reboot PC and it will work, when I had windows photo viewer by default Snipping Tool would not save.

Simple solution.  Worked like a charm. Thanks!
