  • 1. A customer have many application Authentication on Novell Directory Service version 6.5

    2. Requirement are:

        2.1 Migration user on Novell Directory Service to Microsoft Windows2008R2 AD with all information (Exclude password)

        2.2 Change Authentication of all application from Novell Directory Service to Microsoft Windows2008 R2 AD

    3. What is tools for this senerio?

    4. Quest is answer?

    5. Customer have a little bit budget..

  • If the customer has a small budget, why is the customer migrating from Novell to Microsoft in the first place?  These migrations are never inexpensive regardless of the customer's size.

     It sounds like they're moving from NetWare 6.5 to Windows 2008 R2.  Why not instead simply look at the latest Novell solution, Open Enterprise Server 11?  Novell includes free migration tools for this, clients don't have to be changed, and administrators will still use many of the same tools to manage their existing network.  If the customer absolutely require AD for some new applications, OES includes Domain Services for Windows which allows eDirectory to act like a Windows 2003 domain giving compatibility to those apps which require AD for authentication.

    1. Customer absolutely require AD for new application that include Exchange

    2. Old application run on Novel cannot serve new business requirement

    3. New solution is on Microsoft base system

    4. For this step customer have a bit budget for migration Novel to MS
