Change article text color: Could not complete the operation due to error 8007ffff RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I have the following issue. When I'm on a publishing site on our SharePoint 2007 environment. And I want to create or edit an article, I'm not able to change any of the colors. I receive the following error. As far as I know nothing has changed.

    Any Ideas?

    Kind regards,
    Hans Renard

  • Hi,

    Thanks to share your post.

For the issue, you may try to do the follow steps:

Uninstall all the additional toolbars installed on the computer from Control Panel -> Programs and Features. Most of the times, the toolbars will cause the issue.

Even after uninstalling all the Toolbars, if you still face the same issue then:
    - Clear the Internet Cache. (Tools, Internet options, delete files)
    - Repair or Uninstall/Reinstall Mozilla, via Programs and Features.
    - Uninstall MSN Add-Ons, if they are installed.
    - Refresh the MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Components) by downloading and installing them from:

    Hope this could help you!

  • Hi Leo,

I'm having this problem within my Internet Explorer, so uninstalling mozilla is not necessary. It's even nog installed on my laptop :)£
I cleared my internet cache and I even installed IE 9. Still nothing...
    Any other ideas ?

    Kind regards,

  • Hi,

    I have found a workaround.

Press the 'Edit Html source'-button in the toolpane.
A pop-up will appear with the html, press there the same button again, now you will be able to edit the text in rich mode in that same window & yes the color picker will work!

Let me know if it was ok for you to.

  • I hit these error today and it is fixed now.

I fixed by inetcpl.cpl from START --> Run to open Internet Properties, then go to Advanced tab, click Reset to clear all browsing history and personal data.

After that restart IE, add your site as trusted site by go to Tools --> Internet Options --> Security --> select Trusted Sites --> click Sites --> enter url --> uncheck "Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone" --> click Add --> browse your page again.

    hope this help :)
