Join VM to domain

  • HI,

I have problem join vm to domain.

Im using the activity "create VM from Template".

I entered the domain name + domain user+ domain password.

when i entered to vm using VMM i can see that the computer is in workgroup and not in the domain. (the name of the workgroup was change from the default to the domain name i have entered)

is there any automate  way to join VM  to domain? (using vm integration pack? or any other way?)

i created an automate  post build process and i cant start the process because the VM must join the domain before i cant start run any process on the VM.

    thanks in advance.

  • Hello Gilad,

this should work also with the Activity "Create VM From Template".

Can you check if the "Workgroup VM" has the right Network settings (VLAN, IP-address, DNS-resolution) that a Domain-Join can work ...

  • Hi,

Configure it in your VMM template, domain join, including a account for that and a password. As Stefan wrote make sure DNS, IP is correct for the VMs. After that you can use Create VM in ORchestrator to create a new machine based on that template. The new VM will be a domain member when deployed.
