Issue with SCCM 2007 Software updates and missing KB3083710 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an SCCM 2007 enivornment and a requirement to deploy KB3083710. The update is available in the WSUS backend as I can search for it.

Confirmed that the correct products and classifications are configured for software updates (in production use).

Problem is KB3083710 is not searchable in SCCM therefore not allowing me to deploy it.

Confirmed that the sync process is working but until to resolve the issue.

Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this?

  • That's what I thought but I'm only seeing 500+ machines requiring this update but I have 7000+ system with older agents deployed.

  • Perhaps they haven't returned their scan results yet. Not sure why that matters though. If you want it deployed, deploy it.

As an additional note here, depending upon the WUA agent version, perhaps they are broken and not returning scan results at all and also not updating at all. This is a bit of a chicken and egg issue. In that case, you will need to deploy the update using software distribution.

  • I'm considering sending the update over using software distribution just to be sure all the machines install it as I can't trust the information being reported in the software updates.

  • I edited my post above (so you may not have seen my additional note with this as a suggestion).
