Does MOM in a six servers environment interfere with the deployment? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    I have two environments:

    - one Server for FCS (VOFOREFRONTCS1 - MG:ForefrontClientSecurity) for the servers

    - six servers for the FCS Desktops (SOPFCSDB1, SOPFCSRS1, VOTFCSCS1, VOTFCSMS1, VOTFCSRS1, WSUS01, MG:Desktop).

Do the MOM Clients (MOM Service) on the six servers environment (Database Reporting Server, Database Collection Server, Collection Server, Reporting Service Server, Management Server, WSUS) play a role during the deployment of the FCS Client to the desktops?

    For the Management Group?

For the Server Name the Clients will point to?

Where should the MOM Agent on the six servers environment used for the dekstops be pointing...

    - the Server for FCS Servers as it is a server?

    - the FCS Desktops collection server as it is used within the Desktops environment?

I have the servers VOTFCSMS1 hosting the dashboard for FCS but its does not show the 14-Day history.

The task ran fine on the SOPFCSRS1.

The unique account svcFFCS is local administrators on all servers and it is also a member of the LPO Logon as a batch job.

It seems after troubleshooting an error with the DCOM it is using the MOM (VOFOREFRONTCS1) server side to run the task to trasnefr from OnePoint tom SystemCenterReporting!!! all servers are under the same MG and Server FCS (SRV, Server Environment) but the Dashboard is supposed to show data from another MG other Server (DTS, Desktops Environement)

    Thanks,

    Dom

  • Thank you to PSP team to help out... even not tested previously.

FCS required some roles which are not automatically installed if the Clients and the Servers hosting FCS are not in the same MG.

Installing the Role (Collector) on the Collection Server made everything possible and working thanks to Jess & Nagaraju.

  • with a ticket opened with PSS for a week + it seems this type of architecture have not been tested...

    - Having the servers managed by one FCS Environment with all roles in  a management group  A

    - Having the Clients managed by another FCS Environment with all roles in a management group B.

still progressing as it seems working a litlle bit better now than the Microsoft Engineer found out one role to be added (Collector) in Management Group B ... stay tuned...

    Thanks,
