Identifying Network devices with generic System Object ID RRS feed

    Hi all,

    I'm currently developing custom management packs for some tape libraries and I have problems identifying them. I've two different type of devices, from different vendors and with different MIBs that use the same System Object ID (.1.3.6.1.4.1.8072.3.2.10)

    Until know I thought that SysObjID was unique per vendor/model, but both are identified as with the mentioned SysObjId, that matches to Net-SNMP Agent 5.1. This seems to be a generic linux. Any hint?

    I've seen this a lot, many linux-based appliances are showing as NetSNMP.

    Use another OID, maybe Vendor or another one that will be unique :)
