How can we restore a broken Full control Permissions set? RRS feed

    A develloper in our team a more or less inadevrtantly removed a couple of permissions by code from the Full Control permissions set.

    When we log as the sharepoint admin user, we can't clicked on these options to restore them, they are greyed out.

    How can we reiniatilize the Full Control permissions set ? Can we do it by the site administration page? By code? Directly in the sharepoint database? Either way I don't mind.

    No, althought our dev find a solution to the problem. They ran a bit of code using elevated privileges and where capable of undoing what was done. I was a bit surprised that it worked but hey, who am I to criticize creative use of the sharepoint API; which got us into trouble in the first place :)

    Have you tried to create a new policy for the web app, so that it overrides any other permission set, that might get you back in again.  It's described here:
