DA Clients - Windows 8 Enterprise running on Microsoft Surfaces
We have a strange situation where DA works for our clients but on the DA server under Operations Status an error is listed against the NLS Server - Network Location Server: Not working properly and then lists 3 possible reasons: Issue with the Certificate,
the NLS server website is unavailable or Operational Server availability cannot be determined.
Have attempted to run through the setup wizard, step 3 but when clicking finish comes back with an error saying there has been an issue and then carries out a roll back. Then I have to recreate the DNS entry because it deletes it from DNS.
The certificate we have generated is listed on the DA Server.
I have also noticed that the Clients show status as connecting under Workspace Connectivity rather than connected.
But I can ping the NLS server outside and other servers on our Domain. I can also access network resources with no issues.
Has anyone experienced the following errors as listed above but still have DA working?
Do you host the NLS on the DirectAccess Server? If yes it might be a problem with Windows Firewall that does not open TCP 62000 for incomming NLS web traffic. Can your internal clients connect to the NLS Web site and see it's default web page?
