CX600, USB RJ45 and MoH RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Guys,

As far as I know, the MoH feature is not supported on standalone devices like CX500/600/700 but is supported on USB devices as CX300 and headsets.

But the CX600 has an USB port and a power adapter. Is it possible for the CX600 to work only as an USB device (without the RJ45 cable). If yes, does the MoH works ?

By the way, do somebody know if it's possible to load different ringtones on the Polycom devices ?

    Best regards,

  • The ethernet based devices with USB must still be connected to ethernet and able to pull a valid IP address via DHCP.  They do not operate via USB-tethering only.

Music On Hold is only supported on the desktop Lync client, so if any devices it USB tethered it is still the desktop Lync client which is facilitating the MoH feature.

Custom ringtones are also not supported on Lync Phone Edition, only the pre-installed tones included in the firware are currently available.

  • The only way I found to have MoH for RJ45 UC phones devices, is to play it on hold on the gateway (NET VX1200). It's working external call only but it works.
