SCE 2007 with SP1 is not able to find Hyper-V of 2008R2 Core Data Center Edition Cluster RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,
We have installed Server 2008R2 Core of DataCenter edition with Hyper-V cluster. We are using SCE 2007 with SP1 to monitor our servers. We have MP for Hyper-V (Version 6.0.6633.0) and System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008 (Version 2.0.3451.0) . We also have one Windows Server 2008 (without cluster) with Hyper-V. We also have MP for Cluster Monitor (version 6.0.6568) in SCE.

We are able to see Windows Server 2008 (without cluster) with Hyper-V as Hyper-V server in Monitoring Pane  but not able to see the new cluster under Hyper-V or Clustered Server. We have installed SCE agent on both clustered servers and can see them as servers and their processor performance and other details .

Do we need to upgrade any MP or need to wait for new MP for 2008R2.

  • Hi,

Cluster server is supported by SCE, please try to un-install agent on this cluster server and delete it from SCE console, then re-deploy agent to this cluster server.

  • Thanks Eric,

I have followed your steps but no change. I have imported MP of SCVMM R2 in SCE. The new clustered servers are listed under "Virtual Machne Manaer 2008 R2" but still they are not listed as Hyper-V servers under "Microsoft Windows Hyper-V".
