RPC over HTTP error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone,

I am trying to configure RPC over HTTP on SBS 2003.  It is a single server environment.  I have gone through the documentation provided and it appears everything is configured correctly.  However, when I run the Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyzer I receive the following error.

Attempting to ping RPC endpoint 6001 (Exchange Information Store) on server
The attempt to ping the endpoint failed.
Tell me more about this issue and how to resolve it
    Additional Details
The RPC_S_SERVER_UNAVAILABLE error (0x6ba) was thrown by the RPC Runtime process.

What might be causing this issue?  Thanks

  • Just to update,

I did some more research and ran a tool called rpcnofrontend to automatically create the correct registry entries.  This fixed my port 6001 error but left me with a new error for port 6002.  After some additional troubleshooting, I think the new error is caused by another program listening on port 6002.  Once I get that moved it should fix my issue.
