Log writing to \var\log\syslog is disabled? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I don't know why, but for some reason the FAST environment does not write into the \var\log\syslog. I only have historic entries. The last entries detail a system shutdown of FAST.

The other logs in \var\log\<service> do get updated with the latest events.

How can I enable the \var\log\syslog log?

  • Any changes done recently? More specifically, recent changes in using certificates or running "replacedefaultcertificate.ps1"?

There is a possibility that you may be having some issues with Logserver communication to Logserver client/clients. What you can try doing to further debug is do a WCF trace on MonitoringService communication to see any problems between Logserver and Logserver client. You could use tools such as SvcConfigEditor to enable WCF tracing logs and then use SvctTaceViewer to view the resulting logs.
