How to see the breakdown between replica/recovery point volumes RRS feed

  • Question

  • The (supported) limit of protected data in DPM 2012 R2 is 80 TB (replica volume) and 40 TB (recovery point volume). However, is there perhaps a PS-script for calculating the total amount of allocated space within the DPM diskpool - the breakdown between replica and recovery point volumes?

  • Hello Amir :)

    I've not seen any pre-written PS-script that achieves what you are asking for. But I guess you could use something like the example below to extract the disk allocation-data from each datasource and summarize it with Excel for example.

    #Get all Protection Groups
    $PGs = Get-DPMProtectionGroup

    #Loop through all Protection Groups
    foreach($PG in $PGs)
        {
            $DSs = Get-DPMDatasource -ProtectionGroup $pg

            #Loop through all datasources in each Protection Group
            Foreach($DS in $DSs)
                {
                   $DS | select diskallocation | fl | Out-String -Width 500
                }
        }
