Cannot install Virtual AP via sccm2007sp1R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  •

    We can install PowerPointViewer(PPTViewer) but catnot install AcrobatReader.

    We made App-V packages both SW, then imported to SCCM.

    PowerPointViewer pakage was deliverd to client and installed well.

    We can use PowerPointViewer as virtual AP on the client.

    AcrobatReader pakage was deliverd to client but not installed.

    SCCM Pakage Status="Program error" were founded.

     We found failure messages in "VirtualApp.log" file as below.

    ======== Failure Messages ================================

    <![LOG[CVAppRegistration::RunAddPkgCommand failed. (0x80009101)]LOG]!><time="14:39:37.635+000" date="08-17-2010" component="VAppRegistration" context="" type="3" thread="2540" file="registrationhandler.cpp:785">

    also,

    We can import PowerPointViewer pakage via sccm making virtualpackage wizard,

    but cannot import AcrobatReader pakage via sccm making virtualpackage package wizard,

    so we used "ManageVAppPackage.vbs" for importing.

    We guess Microsoft Product can be Installed well but non MS product must be added anything .

  • Are you deploying these applications as App-V packages? If you aren't then you would be best asking this question (and add a bit more detail) in the SCCM forums: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-GB/configmgrgeneral/threads

  • Have both packages ended up with the same GUID? You can compare by looking at the OSD files.

  • Hello,

    Well, why can you not import the second software? (or even better - what are you doing an what happens?)

    That seems to be an indication that trouble would show up later (as it has...)

  • My guess is it ran into trouble importing the virtual application - possibly due to an error/problem in the manifest file. What is in the manifest file.

  • If you have made more than one attempt in sequencing Adobe Reader, you may be suffering from a name conflict.  Here is another case of the 00001809 error: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/appvclients/thread/519601ae-0455-4a9f-b4c1-8961fcbddc56/

    Try sequencing the problem application from scratch, and make sure that you use unique names.
