IE9 Problem: This file contained a virus and was deleted. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've searched all over the internet yet I can't find a fix. I'm using IE9. I tried looking in my Program Files for AVG remnants but there wasn't even an AVG folder! I really don't know how to fix this problem and it's giving me a headache.

    Can anyone help?

  • Hi,

Does the issue happen on the particular files?

I would recommend you to perform the steps mentioned below and check if it helps:

Temporarily disable all the third party security programs and boot in Clean Boot and Safe Mode with networking to test the issue.

If this issue persists, you could try to turn off Internet Explorer 9 and turn on it again to see how it works:
    1. Close all programs.
    2. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
    3. Click Programs and Feature.
    4. In the tasks pane, click Turn Windows features on or off.
    5. In the list of windows features, clear the check box next to Internet Explorer 9.
    6. You receive a warning message in a pop-up window. Click Yes.
    7. Restart computer, and repeat the steps 1-4, check the box of Internet Explorer 9.
