  • Hi Newlife1985,

You could run the following commend to export and import the contacts for a single user:
    Export-CsUserData -PoolFQDN "Lon-pool.adatum.com" -UserFilter "user@domain.com" -FileName "C:\exportedcontacts\Test.zip"
    Update-CsUserData -Filename "C:\ExportedContacts\test.zip" -UserFilter “user@domain.com”
Details you could refer to Back Up and Restore Lync Contacts Using PowerShell

  • Thank you for your answer Evan,

But the requirement is we should be able to export the contacts from server database and import them to certain client machines.

Please let me know if there is a way. Thanks!!

  • Hi Newlife1985,

What do you mean about export the contacts from Server database?

As you know, Exports user data in a format that can be imported into Skype for Business Server 2015. The data will be exported as a .ZIP file containing a pair of XML documents. The Export-CsUserData cmdlet provides a way for administrators to export user data and/or conference directory for a Skype for Business Server pool. That data, which can be saved in the user data format used by Skype for Business Server can then be imported by using the Import-CsUserData cmdlet.

Details about this please refer to Export-CsUserData

  • Hi Evan,

    Thank you for your response.

Here the scenario is there are clients who aren't able to download the addressbook files from the server.

Is there any way we can export address book from the sfb server and import it to the affected clients?

    Thanks!!

  • Hi Newlife1985,

The address book always updates from the server side every day. It will auto update the address book from SFB server file share to SFB client.

As this issue only occurred for one user, I suggest you try to delete the SFB cache files below then check this issue again:
    SFB client cache file: %Userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Lync\sip_XXXXX
    SFB Registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Lync\sip_XXXXX

    Best Regards,
    Evan Jiang
