How To Export Form Project 2013 To Visio 2013? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Everyone

I am new to the above products and would like to know how to export my project from Project 2013 to Visio to great a documenting for the business process in a nice visual document to hand over to the client.

Can you explain how this is done and also how would I change between some different styles for the document?

Thanks for you time and advice on this matter and I look forward to speaking to you soon.

    Thanks

  • Hi ManDido,

A Visio add-in called WBS modeler was released for Project/Visio 2010 but unfortunately hasn't yet been migrated to 2013. See reference below:

Your other solution is to create a custom report using Visio Services. See below the excellent article from Andrew:

  • HI Guillaume Rouyre

I am about to start my Bsc (Honours) computing and IT so I have just downloaded Visio 2010 as part of my course so if you could explain the steps I would need to do the above task.

  • Hi Mandido,

The link I provided explains in details how to use the WBS modeler Visio addin.

However this is for Visio 2010 and Project 2010. I haven't tested it with Visio 2010 and Project 2013.

    Hope this helps,

  • Mandido --

If you have the Professional version of Visio 2010 or 2013, you can use the Visual Reports for Visio.  There are several built-in Visual Reports for Visio that show high-level task information, which might be useful to you and your client.  In Microsoft Project 2013, click the Report tab and then click the Visual Reports button to access this feature.  If you see the Visual Reports for Visio, this means you have the Professional version of Visio.  If you do not see the Visio reports, this means you have the Standard version.  Hope this helps.
