In what location is “All Users needed under Vista? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently erroneously overwrote my C:\Users folder. I had a backup of the folder but Vista will not allow me to create an All Users sub-folder in the Users folder or copy the one from my backup.

I noticed that there is an All Users sub-folders in C:\Users\Default with similar data to the one in my backup file. Also I noticed that C:\PrgramData has similar content to the one in my backup file.

I have not tested all my programs but so far I noticed that I have lost application data for a few applications (such as list of recovery media for a backup software) and I will have to reinstall another one.

In view if this, do I need to recreate C:\Users\All Users?
