Biometric Login System RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys, i want to ask if i use Facial Login with a normal camera. That is, the camera doesn't have Infra-red function. What will happen?

Is that the face reorganization will be not accurate?

  • Windows Hello introduces system support for biometric authentication – using your face, iris, or fingerprint to unlock your devices

It uses a combination of special hardware and software to accurately verify it is you – not a picture of you or someone trying to impersonate you. The cameras use infrared technology to identify your face or iris and can recognize you in a variety of lighting conditions.

    So normal camera can't.

  • Hi ,

As S.Sengupta said, we could setup Windows Hello to sign in to your Windows 10 devices using your face, iris, or fingerprint, if your hardware supports Widows Hello. Please contact your computer to verify whether you computer is supported for Windows Hello.

"Under  Windows Hello , you’ll see options for face, fingerprint, or iris if your PC has a fingerprint reader or a camera that supports it. Once you’re set up, you’ll be able to sign in with a quick swipe or glance. "
