Error Message in ULS logging: "Tracing Service lost trace events." RRS feed

  • Question

  • I cannot view any event in my MOSS2007 log files (\12\LOGS\).

The only message that is written in every log file is like this:

"09/20/2011 11:46:31.62  wsstracing.exe (0xDF78)                  0x9A20 ULS Logging                    Unified Logging Service        uls1 Monitorable Tracing Service lost trace events.  Current value 81. "

    Hi,

You can try to apply the below settings in Central Administration > Operations > Diagnostic Logging.

    Event Throttling  All

Least critical event to report to the event log  Information

Least critical event to report to the trace log  High

    Thanks,

  • Hi,

This is looks like a common problem and restart the "Windows Sharepoint Service Tracing" service from the Services computer management snap-in.

    Regards

  • I've restarted it several time, restarted the server also.

I've also installed Last Cummulative update for WSS&MOSS (June/July-2011) today.

But the problem appears again and again.
