How to add a custom Powerpoint template across corporate PC's so everyone can access it RRS feed

  • Question

  • Our company has created a custom Powerpoint template that it would like it's employees to use when giving presentations (all of whom have a Office 365 Business subscription). I have been given the task of getting it deployed onto their computers so that whenever they open the Powerpoint app and hit a new presentation, the template will be on the list of template options with the default ones.

Is there a way to do that other then each person creating a custom templates folder, adding the template manually, and using the 'Open -> Browse' option every time?

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Thanks!

  • Hi STimC,

You may try to contact your network administrator to deploy the Workgroup templates using group policy and the Office Admin Templates

To do this, please save the template to a shared folder on a network drive. Then configure the group policy setting via Users Configuration/Administrative Templates/Microsoft Office 2016/Shared paths/Workgroup template path:

Once configured your users will see the template folder under File > New > Custom.

Hope you can find this helpful.

    Best regards,
    Yuki Sun

  • Hi Yuki Sun - Is it possible to have the templates stored in SharePoint/365 (rather than a network drive)?

It would be nice to have a solution that works entirely in the cloud (once the GPO has been initially applied in the office).

    Thanks,  R.
