Internet Explorer 11 Favorites List Disappears after a few seconds RRS feed

  • Question

  • When I click on the Favorites menu option, the list opens, but then closes after a few seconds, even though I haven't had a chance to select anything.

    I'm using version 11.321.14393.0 on Windows 10 Pro, Version 1607 OS Build 14393.351 64-bit

  • Hi shh22,

Have you shown the "Favorite bar" in Internet Explorer 11 menu?

Please try the following steps to troubleshoot this issue.
    1.Clear the browsing history.
    Settings\Safety\Clear browsing history
2.Run "iexplore.exe  -extoff" to open Internet Explorer 11 without add-ons to troubleshoot whether it is caused by an add-on.
3.Try to reset the Internet Explorer 11.
    Tools\Internet options\Advanced\Reset
4.If the issue persists, try to turn off and turn on Internet Explorer 11 from the program control panel.
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features

    Best regards

  • Yes, the Favorite bar is displayed.

Performed all of the troubleshooting steps above.

    Problem still continues.

  • When I click on the Favorites menu option

This symptom description involves the mouse but implicates a problem with the menu.  Have you tried eliminating the mouse, e.g. by using the keyboard to press Alt-a?  A workaround which involves the alternate Favorites Center button to pin the Favorites on the left is  Ctrl-Shift-I.
