  •  Both DPM 2007 and DPM 2010 allow you to move a data source from one PG to another.  The procedure is the same.  Right-click the data source and chose the option to stop protection of member.  You will be given a choice to retain recovery points or not, choose to retain.  Once completed - the data source will be listed under an inactive protection group.  Now re-protecct the same data source by modifying an existing PG or creating a new one, and the data source will be moved from inactive PG to the new PG.  Keep in mind that the recovery range of the data source will inherit the recovery range of the new PG it is a part of, so if it is less than the original, the RP's will be pruned.
