How can admins get notification of user spam? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

There is an option for user notification that they are notified if an email is blocked as spam.  However if that is turned off, is there a way for the administrator to be notified whenever a user gets spam?  Or a digest at the end of the day? Even in the report tab, the email traffic report only shows the number of emails in spam, and not the users who's emails are blocked.

If Forefront for Exchange is installed on the server, what integration does it provide? can that be used to view emails blocked by spam on fope?

    Thanks

I asked the same question a while back when talking with FOPE support, and they stated that it was not possible to enable to administrator alert without enabling the user alert, but that they had submitted my request for the feature in a later release of the FOPE software.

  • Even if you enable user alert, there is no option to send administrator an alert right?

It is only "Active" Spam Quarantine notification

which is for individual user, how does the admin get notified of it?

  • Yes, my apologies - the conversation I remembered was the virus notification e-mail.

  • As a Admin we cannot get a notification on users behalf....

But we can access any Users Quarantine Mailbox (If having Admin or Quarantine Admin with Account Manager permissions)

Note: Account Manager permission so that we can add that user to FOPE ADMIN Center in order to view his Quarantine Mailbox

Other way round we can provide end users an access to there respective Quarantine Mailbox so that they can keep a track of SPAM emails delivered and take the required action.

The above given options can be accomplished simultaneously.

If the SPAM email count is excessive and user is finding it hard to access the Quarantine Mailbox on daily basis the best solution would be the SPAM action for the domain should be changed to Add X-Header where all the SPAM emails are been delivered directly to Junk Email folder in Outlook or OWA making it convenient for the users.

Add X-Header:EHS-MARKED-SPAM (For BPOS) in Office 365 by default the SPAM action is set to X-Header.

There is a different workaround for Stand Alone FOPE subscribers.
