Upgrade FCS Client from 5.0.2911.0 to 5.0.2911.1 ... RRS feed

  • Hello,

    Trying to Upgrade the FCS Client from 5.0.2911.0 to 5.0.2911.1 I am getting an error:

    the folder C:\A286B00A-C3DE-414F-A96A-2BD238948D88\ASSETMGR1AgentPatch.LOG listed in the error could not be found on the machine... any comment and help on this?

    I have a case with MS already opened but it seems to be looping for months... as when correcting one issue another comes up...

    Any idea?

  • Hello,

    With the help of two engineers from PSP we have been able to upgrade the MOM Servers and 700+ servers ... remain about 150 failing.

    The process done was to remove the SDK and Support Kit which seemed to have the old version and be located by the Installer earlier in the process that the "real" mom product itself. after removing them and also SP1 they reinstalled SP1 sucessfully with the Windows Updates as well... after few minutes the MOMAction.dll was updated on the MOM server to 5.0.2911.1 and the servers started to popup in the Pending folder waiting for an agent upgrade which tiook place...

    Thank you for your post.

    Please change your folder options to show hidden and system files, we need to know ASSETMGR1AgentPatch.LOG content.

    By the way, you upgraded FCS client to all clients via WSUS?

    Show hidden and system files is already checked.

    FCS Client are upgraded by right clicking the Computer under Agent-managed computers in the MOM 2005 Console and selecting Upgrade Agent Settings.

    1.Check if your MOM server version is 5.0.2911.1 via register based on KB923105:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Operations Manager\2.0\Setup

    2.Check MOM Administrator console following How to apply this hotfix to MOM 2005 agents listed in KB906858.

    3.Some hotfix like KB906858 include MOM agent(Momactions.dll) 5.0.2911.1, install the KB to upgrade your clients MOM agent.

    It looks like you've resolved the issue by uninstalling the SDK and Support Kit.   You said that 150 remain.  Does the update fail on these after doing the steps you mentioned?
