Languages packs on Windows 7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All

We have a number of machines that require multiple languages, we have Windows 7 pro, and cannot seem to get other languges installed on these

I find it hard to believe the MS have been so short sighted as to only allow users of ultimate and Enterprise to install multiple languages

any idea where we can get the MUI packs from with out having Enterprise or ultimate

    thanks

  •  what about people at home learning to speak a 2nd language?

I think the same. Send it as feedback to MS:

    We can't do anything. Sorry.

no, installing MUIs on a Pro makes it non genuine.

    Upgrade to Enterprise or Ultimate.

  • Hi

is this the official stance as it seems a little mad that they would restrict this to enterprise and ultimate, what about people at home learning to speak a 2nd language?

    thanks for the reply

  • For some languages, you can install Language Interface Packs (LIPs). A LIP is a high-quality, localized user interface for emerging or minority language markets.
    See:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/goglobal/bb688177.aspx for more details and for a comparison between LIP and Language Packs (LPs).

You can find a list of available LIPs here:
