2010 Outlook autoconfiguration was unable to determine settings RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've looked at the other threads and was unable to find the solution.  Several of our clients are unable to access the Automatic Reply, and they get the error message that the server is unavailable, while other clients (using same mail server) don't have this problem.  I can't determine what is causing it.  I would think if it were something on the server, it would affect the all of the clients.  So is it something specific with each clients machine?

Here are the results of the test I did for my email....

  • Hi Shannon,

The issue you came across might be related to many causes, we need further investigation:

    1. Test Email auto-configuration on Outlook only with Use AutoDiscover.
    2. Results, find the OOF URL which Outlook client trying to access.
    3. OOF URL in IE and see whether it can be accessed successfully.

If it doesn’t work, please reply with the error message.

    Regards,

  • Hi,

Please check the authentication in IIS manager and try to set it to default:

Default Web Site:    Anonymous Authentication     SSL    Client Certificate: Ignore

Autodiscover:   Anonymous Authentication, Basic Authentication & Windows Authentication       SSL                 Client Certificate: Ignore

Ecp:   Anonymous Authentication & Basic Authentication      SSL          Client Certificate: Ignore

EWS:  Anonymous Authentication & Windows Authentication             SSL       Client Certificate: Ignore

    Exchange:     SSL        Client Certificate: Ignore

    Exchweb:  SSL          Client Certificate: Ignore

Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync:  Basic Authentication & Windows Authentication   SSL   Client Certificate: Ignore

OAB:  Windows Authentication   SSL     Client Certificate: Ignore

OWA:      Basic Authentication             SSL                 Client Certificate: Ignore

PowerShell:           DISABLED        SSL                 Client Certificate: Ignore

    Public:  SSL                 Client Certificate: Ignore

Rpc:  Basic Authentication & Windows Authentication   SSL     Client Certificate: Ignore

RpcWithCert:    DISABLED       SSL      Client Certificate: Require

Besides, ensure your virtual directory is proper. We can use  the commands below:

    Get-ClientAccessServer | fl, Get-WebServicesVirtualDirectory | fl, Get-OABVirtualDirectory | fl, Get-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory | fl

If it still does not work, please rebuild the autodiscover virtual directly.

    I hope it can help.

    Regards,

    Rebecca
