Cannot navigate to support link in Installed Updates RRS feed

  • Question

  • Windows 7 has a small UI annoyance within the Programs and Features control panel.

When viewing Installed Updates, the bottom pane neatly provides a support link for each installed update, but it is not navigable . In fact, the only action that can be performed from this screen is uninstalling updates.

To better illustrate this problem, please see this screenshot: http://twitpic.com/1ovosh/full

Why the contents of this screen differs so much from Windows Update's history is also a mystery to me: when reviewing the history of installed updates directly from the Windows Update screen, one can also view and copy details of each update.

  • This seems to be "By Design". I can click on the supportlinks for Office 2007 and Visual Studio 2008 Updates, but not for Windows 7 Updates.
