PWA approved tasks not being applied to project schedule RRS feed

  • Question

  • urgent issue, cannot update any information in PWA through tasks

In all projects, and a test new project, any task created assigned and updated by the resource is approved by the status manager and published, but the changes are not visible except in the resources task view

The task moves to task history but the updated fields are NOT showing any update in PWA or project desktop.

    1. owner, status manager and resource are the same person in testing project, and full admin (same failure result)
    2. leaving the status update awaiting approval triggers a check when opening in project desktop to approve updates and wait for update of schedule, no update occours no changes are visible.
    3. Some updates approved show as "incomplete" in the approval history
    4. opening the project in desktop, changing a field and checking in/publishing DOES update a field

currently PWA is unusable and 25 projects have been loaded but no one can update a status!

  • Hi Paul,

are you missing actual work or modified task enterprise fields?

If you are missing changed values for ECF, please apply Task Usage view in client. Since users are updating values in tasks.aspx, their changes are only applied to task field on assignment level and can only be seen in Task Usage view.

Assume you have two resources assigned to a task, one ist entering x, the other y. What value would you expect on task level? Therefore, values of assignemnets are not rolled up to task level.

PM has to review values on assignemnt level and set them manually (or with a macro ...) to task level.

If you are missing actal work, I have currently no idea, I have never seen the behavior if Status Updates had been visible.
