Connecting Outlook 2007 to SharePoint Services 3.0 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I’m trying to Connect a pre-existing Outlook calendar to SharePoint. I know I can link a SharePoint calendar to Outlook and have those two be dynamic, but I need SharePoint to share an Outlook calendar dynamically. Does anybody have any ideas?

  • Hi,

    Basically, SharePoint provide ways to connect calendar to Outlook, to connect a pre-existing Outlook calendar to SharePoint, we can also use SharePoint Calendar Actions Connect to Outlook, then outlook will ask you if it is OK to link to the site, once you have added the site to your Outlook, you can drag/drop events from your main calendar, or create new events directly in the SharePoint calendar, Outlook will sync with the SharePoint calendar, your events will appear on the SharePoint site.

    Here is article about this, you can refer to it for more information:

  • Hi,

    If you have Exchange Server in your domain, you can use OWA (Outlook Web Access) to display personal calendar in SharePoint using OWA web part. Details: http://officeimg.vo.msecnd.net/en-us/files/470/986/AF010333886.mht.

    If there is no Exchange in the domain, there is a relatively easy way by hand:

    1.       Create a new calendar in SharePoint and link it to your Outlook;

    2.       Open both the pre-existing calendar and the new linked SharePoint calendar in Outlook, choose the “Month” mode.

    3.       Drag the items on the pre-existing calendar and drop to the linked SharePoint calendar.

    If anything is unclear, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

    Thanks,
    Emir
