    I did the public preview of rc2 and have lost my product key is there and way to obtain that key again.

    you can get a new rc1 key here: http://www.laboratoire-microsoft.org/n/22215/

    just select your location.

    and here is the one i got, but i didn't use it: TCV33-CH82D-VC8KY-4YW8F-3VKH

    an rc1 key might work, if you're lucky.  some people have used build 5381 keys 0n 5384

    Hi, I don't think you will find a way to get a new beta key for Windows Vista RC2, the Community Preview Program is now closed (since some months) and Microsoft is not giving away beta product keys.

    Now, I can't seem to find them at the moment, but...
    I'm fairly sure that your post there, Michael, blatantly violates the TOS on the forums here.   I'd suggest that you edit it out of those posts.
    That said, an admin will likely delete the posts shortly (if you don't 'fix' it.)

    stealing = teh bad.  If you want it, buy it.  If you don't want to pay for it, then don't use it.  Simple as that.

    I have purchased HP computer with Windows vista Basic and the Product Key displayed on our computer is 76HC9-MB9D9-2MJ3P-9JCQ7-PDJ4Y, but with this product key we are not able to start Windows word . Please let us know the correct key other wise we will think that Micorsoft has cheated us.

    That would be because the Windows product key has nothing to do with the trial version of Office 2007 that HP installed.
    If your trial period of Office has expired, then you'll need to purchase an Office license to continue to use it.
    Read this page for details.
    IIRC, there's also a link from the Office orb.

    And, no, MS hasn't cheated you.  HP (as do many other OEMs and system builders, myself included) chose to preinstall a trial version of Office (most likely was Home and Student edition) as an easy way to create aftersales revenue.

    The Product Key you posted is not to MS Word. As has been previously stated, it's the Product Key to your operating system. What you have done, however, it tell the entire world which product key you are using.

     

    This is pretty much like posting your ATM Card's PIN Number on an internet forum. You should remove that from your post immediately.

    If you paid $259 for Vista and didn't get a full retail package complete with Product key you, sir, should box up your computer parts and return them for a refund and put the money towards an etch-a-sketch.

    No, because Vista RC2 expired an extremely long time ago.  Even if you managed to get a new key for it, that version of the OS is time-bombed - and, the bomb went off quite some time ago.
    Sorry, you'll need to actually buy the operating system now.  Smile

    Chuck Norris Can run windows vista on an etch a schetch~ anywho, what i whould personaly do is return the thing (hopefully you didn't buy the cd at target) and get your money back. There are still a few of us that us Win2k, winxp, or even windows 95!
