Resource Pool & Project Sharing with Box.com Desctop Sync RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I searched a number of posts and do not seem to find an answer to the issue we are having in the team when using the Box for projects and enterprise resource pool storage. The team is using on-premises MSP Professional and Standard on their computers. The issue relates to assembling the master project with subprojects that are referencing the same resource pool in the Box.com folder as synced in the local Box Sync folder on desktop. When adding sub-projects to the master project, and then checking the Resource Usage, we seem to see tasks that are not in any of the sub-projects added to the master plan. However, the same resource pool is referenced in all the other projects where these particular tasks are present. Not sure why we see them even though we did not add those sub-projects in the master plan.

The following is the process we use for updating projects. Each team member has a Box sync app for desktop that is synced with the Box.com folder. The enterprise resource pool is also stored in that folder on Box.com. Each team member opens a resource pool from sync folder and then the project file to add/remove/change resources. Then, the project is saved and automatically synced with the Box.com folder. The resource managers then open a master plan that they created using the projects where the resources from their team are used.

Please let me know how to fix it and also if you have general guidance on using the Box sync folders for updating projects and resource pool in general.

    Thanks.
