    When I try to open a Word document, or try to make changes I get the message: Microsoft Office system software has stopped working properly. I have Vista operating system

    Could you please post the Error report?


    Have you run a Repair on the full Office package?

    Hi,

    please remove hot mail account and restart outlook.

    the people what will do is when upgraded office 2003 to 2007 0r 2007 to 2010 first time when creating profile microsoft get prompt do you want to sync (connect ) with hot mail when they click yes it goes connected outlook  but after clicked it says Microsoft Office system software has stopped working .

    even if you create new profile also won't work.

    Resolution: Login as Administrator and create one profile for you then log off. re-login with user machine and click it outlook ( 2010 ) again outlook says do you want to connect with hotmail ..say No to ok and apply  new profile will be created and connect with exchange directly.
