Deleted SLO causing Exchange Connector to Fail RRS feed

  • Question

  • Several of my Exchange connectors are failing to update Service Requests.  The server error logs are giving me this:

    The database subscription configuration is not valid.
     The following errors were encountered:
     Exception message: Subscription configuration error. Error reading GroupId element. Error message: Invalid GroupId element specified. Group id bb95c840-6391-6717-d891-3d8faa0ebb3c not found.
    One or more subscriptions were affected by this.

    Subscription name: NotificationSubscription_5fccd589_8ebc_4b7d_971a_cc8eb204faa1
    Instance name: Microsoft.SystemCenter.SubscriptionWorkflowTarget
    Instance ID: {A2A24426-1C31-3A8F-EA39-D316A83C8EF9}
    Management group: XXXXXXXXX

    After using a db search program I created for SCSM, I have found only one reference to bb95c840-6391-6717-d891-3d8faa0ebb3c in the Management DB which is in the table dbo.ManagedTypeRemovalLog and includes this info:  WorkItemGroup.24b991924ad2493f9e2cb3fb10c0fd5f.  I believe that this is a reference to an old SLO that I deleted a while ago.  Since I just onboarded a team yesterday that works from email a lot, I had no idea that the exchange connector was failing when trying to post in updates via email since nobody else was using that functionality.

    Is there something somewhere that I need to update to get this connector to function correctly again.

    The problem in a nut-shell, service requests are being created correctly from the connectors but fail to update from the connectors.

  • Fixed this by installing the October 2013 release of the connector.  Turns out that the old connector has problems updating work items that have been extended.
