    Hi Folks,

When a user1 performs "Assign to Me", the 'Team Tasks' screen doesn't show that a task has been assigned. Means how would other user would know that which tasks has already been assigned? Unless the user (e.g user2) select once and tries to assign, he/she will get error.

I tried modifying the view 'Resource Team Assignment' but nothing shows that the task has been assigned to user1.

    Thanks

  • Hi Kashif,

This is the limitation reported long time back as well: see the following threads:

    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/projectserver2010general/thread/13b98eda-a6af-4e4a-a94e-ee4adddd0df5

Although it was accepted as a bug and fix suppose to be released through CU following the release of PS2010, however apparently it looks like its still an open issue. See the thread below, where Brian Smith has mentioned about this:

Although my reply doesn't resolve your issue :) but at least you can be ease to know that other people are suffering due to the same issue as well. and you can, for now, report it as limitation of product, until this can be fixed through some later CU.

hope this helps my friend :)

  • Kashif,

I believe the self-assignment has to be accepted by the PM before it gets removed from the list. One idea would be to add a rule to automatically accept those requests. If it's a sustainment type project, the auto-publish would also be desirable.

  • Thanks Treb, when PM approved the tasks, it removed from Approval Center but not from Team Task screen. Any other suggestion?
