Why doesn't Exchange (20xx) have cmdlt update-ummailbox? RRS feed

  • Question

  • There is enable-ummailbox and disable-ummailbox, but why isn't there an update-ummailbox? Is there something specific that requires a disable- and enable- that I should be aware of?

Not sure what you are asking actually. What would update-ummailbox do? enable and disable do just that for a mailbox.

  • Update-UMMailbox would allow you to change: UMMailboxpolicy, UMDialplan, change extension

This would prevent the end user from receiving a new 'welcome to unified messaging' email and change their pin.

  • Will this helps you for the policy?
    Set-UmMailbox

For the extensions you really need to go disable/enable way. If you do not want to inform your users about the changes, then you can of course use the parameter "SendWelcomeMail $false".
