Adding Description to Folder

I have a document library and I am adding in documents. When I add a New Folder it only asks me for a Title, I have no option to put in a Description but I have a description column in the doc library which is blank for each folder.
Anyone know how I can add a description when adding a folder?

You can try creating custom content type based on folder and then add it to the document library. here are the steps to do that
