Fast ESP 5.3 x FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint RRS feed

  • Question

  • What is the upgrade path from Fast ESP 5.3 for current customers with an active support subscription? Does it upgrade into FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint? Or is there another product about to be released?

Answers

  • It depends. If you are using ESP 5.3 for intranet application, the upgrade will be Fast Search Server 2010 for SharePoint or Fast Search Server for Internal Site. If ESP 5.3 is for a Internet Site, then you will upgrade to Fast Search for Internet Sites.

  • Hello,

FAST Search 2010 for Internal Applications is sold on a Server/CAL basis and is available for Windows, Unix, and Linux.

Microsoft® FAST™ Search Server 2010 for Internet Sites (FSIS):

Customers have the option to exchange (on or before Dec 31, 2010)  the license grants specified in the offer, for FAST search products integrated with SharePoint. If you are SharePoint-committed, this option may be especially attractive.  To learn more about FAST License Grants Program, please visit http://www.microsoft.com/pathways/fast/FAST%20License%20Grants.htm or contact your FAST Account Manager.

  • That also depends, on business requirements and licensing agreements. Each customer must first contact their Microsoft Account Manager to discuss this.
