PXE-boot: add extra menu for new environment + have current envronment untouched? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have a own built installation framework which deploys Windows XP as well as servers. We now woul like to deploy Windows 7 via SCCM 2012 SP1 with MDT integrated.

How can we add an extra item in the boot-menu which point to our new SCCM-server so we can pxe-boot an have an option menu: current environment - new environment?

    Thanks for your feedback.
    J.

  • If WDS only have one boot option it is automatically selected and no menu is shown.

However if you have more than one wim file as a boot option then the PXE menu will be shown.

On other Words. Just add your wim file to the boot folder in WDS.

  • One more thing: is it the boot image to be added or the bootable media created within SCCM to be added to the WDS?

  • It is the bootable media you created with SCCM using a MDT tasksequence.

  • Thanks, so the "Create Taks Sequence Media" option in task sequence then choosing the MDT boot image.

    All clear now.
