Primary FileGroup full RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I am getting a lot of error Primary Filegroup full for the OnePoint Database.

The Database itself has 10% free Space, the Data File 15% and the Log file 90%.

I tried to add a Secondary FileGroup but it does not seem to be used, why?

I tried to set the Secondary FileGroup as default, is it an option?

    - but I am getting an error cannot set it as default as empty, it needs to contain at least one file, which file should be in? how to create this file?

    Thanks,

    DOm

  • Hi Dom,

    Thank you for your post.

At same time, only FileGroup set to default will be used.

I tried to set the Secondary FileGroup as default, is it an option?
If you select Secondary group default option. Primary group will unselect default option which means it will not be used to store data only to query data.

To add secondary Filegroup could fix your DB issue, please follow steps below:
    1. Backup your OnePoint DB first
    2. In Filegroups page, create a new filegroup like Secondary FileGroup
    3. In Files page, create a data file and log file, specify their Filegroup to Secondary FileGroup
    4. In Filegroups page, Select Secondary FileGroup default option

If there is any update on this issue, please feel free to let us know.
